One of the challenges we have often faced is transforming derelict spaces into airy lofts. What at first sight could seem an impossible mission, due to the advanced state of degradation of this former commercial or industrial properties, becomes an attractive construction project, giving a new lease of life to these spaces.
These spacious old stores, workshops, or warehouses are an excellent base for implementing a loft, often characterized by generously sized social areas and communicating rooms. Through a well designed architectural project and careful rehabilitation, it is possible to adapt these spaces to modern requirements, creating unique houses.
In the two projects that Gavinho Associados recently built and promoted in Lisbon, it was possible to create original solutions. While in Graça‘s loft, a spiral staircase and a garage connecting to the kitchen are the main points of interest; in Mouraria‘s loft, the social area with kitchen and bedroom with closet made this project particularly appealing.
